What is Multi-Camera Production?

Multi-camera production is the professional technique of simultaneously operating two or more cameras at an event, with a director using a hardware video switcher to select the best camera shot in real time. The final output is a polished, continuously edited video — broadcast live to streaming platforms, projector screens, or LED walls — eliminating the choppy single-angle footage that a single camera produces. In India, multi-camera production is used for cricket matches, corporate events, concerts, weddings, religious programmes, and reality shows.

FAQ

Multi-Camera Production — Questions Answered

Everything you need to know before booking a multi-camera production for your event.

What is multi-camera production and how does it differ from single-camera filming? +

Multi-camera production uses two or more cameras simultaneously, with a director switching between feeds in real time using a hardware video switcher. The result is a polished, continuously edited video — similar to what you see on TV — where the best shot is always on screen. Single-camera filming records one angle that must be edited later. Multi-camera is essential for live streaming because there is no post-edit opportunity during a live broadcast.

How much does multi-camera production cost in India? +

Multi-camera production starts from ₹15,000 per day for a 2-camera setup with a hardware switcher. A professional 5-camera production with director, 4K output, branded graphics, and simulcast streaming costs ₹35,000–₹50,000 per day. Large-scale 10+ camera productions for stadiums or major events are custom-quoted. All prices include equipment, crew, and recording.

How many cameras do I need for a cricket match? +

For a local or district cricket match, a 4-camera setup (bowler-end, batsman-end, boundary, and roaming) delivers excellent coverage. State-level or league cricket benefits from 6–8 cameras with slow-motion and a dedicated graphic operator for live scoreboard. IPL-style productions use 10–14 cameras. We design the right configuration based on your ground size and event budget.

Can the multi-camera output go directly to a live stream and a projector screen at the same time? +

Yes. Our ATEM switcher outputs the program feed simultaneously to: (1) the streaming encoder for YouTube/Facebook, (2) an HDMI/SDI feed to your venue projector or LED wall, and (3) a local recording drive — all in perfect sync. Your in-venue audience and online viewers see the same switched production at the same time.

Do you provide ISO recordings of each individual camera? +

Yes, on our Professional and Premium packages. ISO recording captures each camera's raw feed independently in addition to the switched program output. This is invaluable for post-production — your editor can access every angle, every moment, and create highlight reels, player profiles, or documentary content from the raw footage long after the event.

How far in advance should I book a multi-camera production team? +

For standard 2–5 camera events, booking 7–10 days in advance is sufficient. For large-scale 8+ camera productions, we recommend 3–4 weeks advance to ensure the full crew and all specialised equipment are reserved for your date. Last-minute bookings are possible for smaller setups — call us directly.
